CERTIFICATION TRAINING POLICIES

Hybrid Learning

  • Hybrid Learning includes 2 parts:

    • Part 1 — Self-paced online portion.

    • Part 2 — Hands-on skills practice/test portion.

  • Proof of completion is required in order to participate in the hands-on skills session. We make it easy for everyone by providing all relevant information on this page!

    Red Cross, AHA, and ASHI each require participants to complete online work before their skills sessions! Purple is not allowed to provide certifications for Hybrid classes without proof that the correct online work is completed.

  • How to Submit Proof of Online Completion

    DO NOT FOLLOW RED CROSS, AHA, or ASHI INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROVIDING PROOF!!!!

    OPTION 1: Do it yourself online by 30 minutes ahead of class and save! Details here

    1. Once done with your online portion, you may download your proof, or take a screenshot/picture

    2. Go to the email titled, “Your Purple Training Guide - READ THIS!!”. Older versions are titled, “IMPORTANT! Your Purple Class Info! READ THIS!!!”

    3. In the email, find the purple button that says “SUBMIT PROOF OF ONLINE COMPLETION”. Select that personalized link to submit your certificate.

    4. A Purple staff member will review all submitted proof daily, including 30 minutes before each scheduled class. Someone will reach out if we need more/different information.

      ***It is important to note that submissions after 30 minutes prior to class will incur a $5 DO IT FOR ME fee (see below). The reason is that we cannot continue to check for uploaded word after this time — the instructor and team need to prepare for class. A Purple team member will then need to check again during class, which will slow down the class and/or impact the time for that team member.

    Option 2: Use our Convenient “DO IT FOR ME” service.

    If you prefer not to use the form, with our convenient “DO IT FOR ME” service, a Purple team member will assist you before or after class ($5). 👍 Just print out a hard copy and take it to class. Don’t like technology and online forms? We are happy to provide this additional service!

  • Life sometimes gets in the way of completing the online work. At Purple we go the extra mile to make sure you can get the training and certification you need! Participants who have not completed the online portion before class can choose any of the following:

    • Attend your session anyway and upgrade in class to a Traditional Classroom training, $65.

      Additional Information:

      This switch is available during select classes. We recommend confirming availability first by texting (844) 728-3277, or emailing hello@purplehs.com.

      A written exam may be required.

      Making a last-minute switch is good for those who prefer not to wait for a replacement class. The Traditional Classroom format lasts about 1-2 hours longer than Hybrid Learning. [This option is not available for 1-on-1 sessions.]

    • Get more time to complete the online work without paying in full for a second class. Simply arrange a Discounted Replacement class (discount prices vary). The link to do this can be found in your email titled, “ IMPORTANT! Your Purple Class Info! READ THIS!!!”

  • If you completed a Part 1 online portion for the wrong class, you may (in some cases) possibly be able to pay the difference for the class for which you completed the online portion, plus a $10 admin fee for Purple staff to go into the system and update your file. If the difference is LESS, then Purple WILL NOT refund the difference, because crediting back a number of refunds every week/month/quarter, unfortunately, damages the relationship between Purple and the card processor/bank (since banks think that refunds mean we are unreliable).

  • Don’t worry! Unlock many training centers, we won’t send you away, as long as it’s completed.

    Things happen - we understand! If you forgot to upload proof online, take advantage our convenient “DO IT FOR ME” service!

    A Purple team member will assist you before or after class ($10). 👍 We love doing everything we can to get everyone trained and certified!

Schedule & Timeliness

    • Your seat in class is guaranteed. We will never cancel classes for low enrollment, as others do. You can count on Purple!

    • On-time attendance is required: Not because your team here at Purple is super mean!

    • If anyone shows up late, then they missed the learning and/or skills test for that part of the class, so they can't be certified if they show up late. We can't start over for someone who didn't make it on time, no matter your reason.

    • Training starts PROMPTLY at the scheduled start time. Purple staff will NOT open the door after the scheduled start time.

    • Your seat in class is reserved, exclusively for you. There are no refunds for late arrivals or missed classes. NO EXCEPTIONS.

    • Classrooms open 10 minutes before class. If you arrive more than 10 minutes early, the classroom will not yet be open for you. If more time is needed to sanitize and prepare the classroom, instructors may kindly request that everyone wait a few more minutes.

    • Address, directions, parking info, how to find the classroom door, and other helpful details will be provided in your Purple Training Guide email, so you can arrive on time :)

    • Family/personal/pet/health/work/medical issue or emergency

    • Not reading the policy / taking it seriously

    • Trouble finding parking / the building or door on time

    • Driving far or long / already on the way

    • The instructor just started class/didn't seem to be doing anything

    • Traffic / accident / weather / pulled over / GPS problem

    • Unreliable public transportation or rideshare

    • Leaving a message to let us know you'll be late

    • Feeling it's okay to skip some material because of being certified in the past

    • It's okay for the instructor to stay after class to repeat missed information

    • A certification that expires in 2 days / 1 day / that day.

    • Being only two or three minutes late

    • There is just one person / no one else in the class

    • An employer paid for the class

    • This certification is required for an interview / new job / professional license /return to work.

    • Just left work / class / school pick up or drop-off

    • The online work took too long

    • Choosing a class that is too early or late.

    • Not reviewing the provided directions info.

  • If late for class, then you have missed the class. Please do not negatively impact the class experience for others. Do not bang on the door, force the door open, or attempt to enter when a class is in session.

    Participants who force their way into the classroom will be charged an additional $65 before their certification will be processed. This covers review of missed material to be done during another class (so you have to come back anyway), or the instructor *may* (at their discretion) skip or shorten their break to review missed content.

  • Your schedule changed? Running late? Didn't finish your online pre-class work (if relevant)? No problem! We understand things happen, so we provide a discount -- you can sign up for a replacement class for only $45. This $45 is not a fee. It is a discount on reserving an additional seat in another upcoming class. Or, upgrades to private training are also available!

Refunds and Changes

    • All payments and fees are nonrefundable.

    • Your registration & payment guarantees you a reserved seat, in a specific training session, at a specific location & time. Whether or not a participant attends, their seat is reserved specifically for them.

  • We understand things happen. To meet our customers halfway, we offer discounted Replacement Classes for anyone who misses their class due to lateness or any other reason. Please review your specific "Schedule and Timeliness" policy agreement for discounted pricing on Replacement Classes.

    Participants may register for a Replacement Class. The discounted rate is valid for 90 days after the originally scheduled training session. Time to celebrate -- you won't have to pay the full amount twice!

  • If registering for a Replacement Class, participants who originally registered for a group class have the option to upgrade to a quick & efficient, private 1-on-1 training session. An upgrade for First Aid / CPR / BLS / other basic-level health & safety course is available for an additional $29. An upgrade for Instructor Training is available for an additional $54. These special upgrade rates only apply when registering for a Replacement Class.

  • Purple does not cancel classes due to low enrollment, even if only 1 or 2 people have signed up for a particular time slot. You can count on us! However, things can happen. If we have to reschedule a training session due to unforeseen circumstances on the part of Purple Health and Safety, or any of its staff, you will be offered the following options:

    a) Reschedule your training, with a partial refund to be processed within 2 business days -- $10 for group basic-level classes; $15 for 1-on-1 basic-level class sessions, and $20 for Instructor Training (all processed within 2 business days).

    b) Reschedule your training AND get a free upgrade to a same-day expedited certification.

    c) Reschedule your training and get super-discounted in-home "house call" 1-on-1 training for just $59. This typically costs an additional $100-250.

    d) Or you may also decline to reschedule and receive a full refund, processed within 5 business days.

  • Also - If your instructor starts the class late because they arrive late, each participant will receive a $10 partial refund. This will be processed within 2 business days and does not apply if a previous class ended later than scheduled, or if Purple staff needs a few extra minutes to clean / sanitize / set up the classroom.

  • Participants who opt to receive a refund via an alternative method such as Zelle or Cash App will receive an additional $5 refund.

  • Need to switch to a different class day/time while keeping the same class type? Discount Replacement classes are the only way to make any changes to reserved training sessions 7 days or less before your scheduled training session. If your scheduled training is 8 days or more away, you may contact us to make that change at no additional cost!

  • Attempts (either successful or unsuccessful) to bypass the above agreed-upon terms by reversing charges are in fact damaging to Purple Health and Safety. By reserving a specific seat and submitting payment, each participant agrees to be subject to a $250 fee in response to any attempt to reverse charges, plus reasonable collections, court, and/or attorney fees as applicable. This form will be shared with any bank(s), attorney(s), and/or court(s) to demonstrate the agreement made.
