Purple’s comprehensive set of hands-on babysitting and safety training includes leadership, business, childcare, behavior management, activity selection, professionalism, and emergency response.
Designed for ages 11-16.

Prepared at home is an interactive 3-hour virtual or in-person class, designed for children ages 8 – 12. This class gives participants the skills and confidence to stay at home by themselves.
Topics include:
*Decision-making
*Safety online
*When to answer the door
*Responsibilities, chores, and routines
*Overcoming fears
*Handling incidences like outages and storms with ease.

Purple’s “Prepared to Be Safe!” program uses fun, age-appropriate, interactive activities to prepare kids and teens with the fundamental skills to be safe and manage emergencies.

“Kids Fun N’ Fitness” is thoughtfully created in part by a nationally placed former track athlete who has also created movement and sports camps for early childhood and youth programs. Our trusted team of early childhood teachers and curriculum directors have also played a central role.

Hybrid Format
The Prepared Sitters hybrid learning format gives students the opportunity to avoid long in-class hours and do some learning at their own pace when it fits into their schedule.
Hybrid learning conveniently combines self-paced online learning through the Red Cross with shorter, fun, interactive, hands-on classes. Students can join the classroom portion at Purple centers or live online.What You’ll Learn Online
The online material will cover a basic introduction to babysitting, as well as some first aid topics (for those who include First Aid).
In-Person Schedule
Depending on the level selected, the in-person portion takes 4-6 hours, including breaks and a meal/socialization session.
